What Do You Do To Keep And Draw People Into Your Circle? Show Them This!

I am a teacher in an urban high school, as well as a realtor, and I really don't believe that I didn't think of this before.

I was reading and commenting on a recent post by Matt Stigliano about Growth Leader's response to a suggestion he made on his blog. I do believe that their response made Matt's day.

How many opportunities do we waste or fail to grab because of overlooking this one simple rule?

I do believe that Dale Carnegie, in his book How to Win Friends and Influence People, gave us this particular maxim, and provided plenty of examples to prove how well it actually works.

We all know from personal experience how well it works on us. A person who expresses gratitude for something we've said or done for them or on their behalf is probably going to remain in our circle far longer than those who do not, or who do the opposite - nothing but criticize.

Showing genuine appreciation can take many forms, as Matt's post demonstrates. I show appreciation to my students every day by giving them praise on their strengths and accomplishments, both within and outside of my class. I show appreciation to my broker and colleagues by acting on their excellent advice and telling them so. I show appreciation to my wife by eating the food she cooks for me and telling her that I appreciate her.

Showing appreciation doesn't cost anyone a dime, is easy to do, and the rewards are fantastic.

Want to get, and keep, more clients?  Show them appreciation for giving you the chance, the opportunity to serve them.

Want to get more agents? Show appreciation to the ones you have. They'll do the recruiting for you.

Want more referrals? Show appreciation to past clients on a regular basis. They'll be more likely to refer their friends and colleagues to you.

What do you do to keep and draw people into your circle? Just show them this: appreciation!
