How Is Video Helping YOU?

How is Video Helping YOU?

There have been quite a few blogs recently about the ubiquity of video. Last month, Lee and Pamela St. Peter wrote YouTube hits 2 billion views per day - are you CASHING in?, and Holly Weatherwax posted Don't Tell Us What We Want to Watch... on May 18. Both blogs were about the news that we now have  more YouTube viewers than the three major networks during primetime combined, with interesting implications for how we do business as realtors.

Today, Amy Jones posted If you don't think video is big, listen to this.... There are some very interesting facts that Amy includes in her presentation of this topic, one of which was this projection: "Cisco predicts the online video community will exceed 1 billion users by 2014." Lenn Harley asked a very simple question: "Ho[w] many in that community will be seeking real estate help in your market????  How to reach [t]hem is the question."

I was thinking the exact same thing. Lenn certainly got the ball rolling, that's for sure. Here's a portion of my comment: "How many home buyers have been connected to an agent because of video? How many listings have been secured because of video? How many transactions have made it successfully to the closing table because of video?" The questions that I asked in my comment were made even more relevant considering this ad I receieved in my e-mail today:

So the question remains: How is video helping you??? For all of the members using video on their blog and in their marketing, is it helping you? Are buyers finding your listings because you use video? Are buyers signing buyer brokerage agreements with buyers agents because of videos? Are offers to purchase being presented and accepted because of video? Are sellers finding and listing their homes with agents because of video? Are mortgage brokers finding new clients becasue of video? Are more loans being made because of video? Are home inspectors, home appraisers, home statgers, title insurance agents, attorneys, etc. receiving referrals and business because of video? Are we seeing more hits to our websites and blogs because of video? Has our bottom line, our profits, our livelihoods increased because of the use of video on our blogs and websites?

Inquiring minds do want to know...
