The Overlook neighborhood in Waterbury, CT is located north of the city’s center and is bordered by the Willow-Plaza neighborhood to the west, Historic Hillside to the south, Waterville to the north, and Upper Fulton Park neighborhood to the east, with Fulton Park easily accessible to its residents.

 

The Overlook-Waterbury, CT neighborhood is a residential area that consists of mostly single family homes, with a number of multi-family homes scattered throughout the neighborhood, and two condominium complexes, one located on Cables Avenue and the other located at the intersection of Willow and Waterville Streets.

 

The Overlook neighborhood of Waterbury, CT is the first planned residential neighborhood of the city, with the majority of the single family homes in the Overlook neighborhood having been built between 1900 and 1940. The houses are overwhelmingly colonial style homes, with variations dating back to the turn of the 20th century. The tree-lined streets and majestic homes gives the Overlook neighborhood a charm nowhere else to be found in the entire city.

 

There is one elementary school that serves the Overlook neighborhood - Kingsbury Elementary School , located at 220 Columbia Boulevard.

The Country Club neighborhood in Waterbury, CT is located in the southwestern corner of Waterbury, lying on the westernmost edge of the city, between the Western Hills and Town Plot neighborhoods and bordering Middlebury.

 

The Country Club neighborhood of Waterbury, CT is the only residential neighborhood of Waterbury that consists solely of single family homes. The Country Club neighborhood of Waterbury, CT is the premier neighborhood of the city, with the vast majority of the homes there occupying more than half an acre and worth over $250K. The houses in this neighborhood are predominantly both colonial or assorted ranch style homes, with a few Cape Cod and contemporary style homes found in the neighborhood.

 

There are no schools located in the Country Club neighborhood, but residents sending their children to public schools would send them to Berlin W. Tinker Elementary School , located at 809 Highland Avenue, West Side Middle School , located at 483 Chase Parkway, and Kennedy High School , located at 422 Highland Avenue. The Country Club neighborhood is home to the only privately owned higher education campus in Waterbury - Post University , located at 800 Country Club Road.

The Town Plot neighborhood in Waterbury, CT is located in the southwestern corner of Waterbury, lying between the Brooklyn, West End, South End, and Country Club neighborhoods of the city, and bordering Naugatuck to the south.

 

The Town Plot neighborhood of Waterbury, CT is a residential neighborhood that consists of mostly single family homes, with a significant number of duplex, triplex, and 4-plex multi-family homes scattered throughout the neighborhood, and several condominium complexes located on Oronoke Road and Highland Avenue, and one located on Bradley Avenue.

 

The Town Plot neighborhood of Waterbury, CT is the oldest neighborhood in the city, having been the site of the original settlement that became known as Waterbury back in 1684. The majority of residences in the Town Plot neighborhood today were built there between 1930 and 1970, with the condominium complexes having been built after 1970, the majority of them within the last 20 years. The single family houses are prdominantly either cape cod or assorted ranch style homes, with a few colonial and contemporary style homes found in the neighborhood.

 

There is one elementary school that serves the Town Plot neighborhood – Berlin W. Tinker Elementary School, located at 809 Highland Avenue. Tinker, along with other elementary schools in the western part of Waterbury, serve as feeder schools for West Side Middle School, located at 483 Chase Parkway, and Kennedy High School, located at 422 Highland Avenue. They are the only middle/high school in the Waterbury school system which do not share facilities. The Town Plot neighborhood are also home to two privately owned and operated schools – Holy Cross High School, located on 587 Oronoke Road, and Chase Collegiate School, located on 565 Chase Parkway.

 

Residents in the Town Plot neighborhood of Waterbury, CT can enjoy recreational activities at Murray Park, located off of Anna Avenue.

The Upper Fulton Park neighborhood of Waterbury, CT is located in the center of the northern half of Waterbury, CT. It lies between the Lakewood, Waterville, Overlook, Crownbrook, and NEWPAC neighborhoods of Waterbury, CT. Formerly considered the Burnt Hill area, the Upper Fulton Park neighborhood takes its name from the historic Fulton Park, which lies at the neighborhood’s southwest corner.

 

The Upper Fulton Park-Waterbury, CT neighborhood is a primarily residential area. The majority of homes are single family houses, with about a third of the houses being multi-family units mostly scattered along the main arteries of the neighborhood, Hill Street, Cooke Street, and Moran Street. There is a senior citizen housing complex, Nottingham Towers, located at the northwest corner of the Upper Fulton Park-Waterbury, CT neighborhood , and a condo development, Barclay Square, in the upper Hill Street area of the neighborhood. The majority of the homes in this area were built between 1941 and 1969, with a number of older homes built before then lying closer to Fulton Park, and newer homes built within the last twenty years lying closer to the edges of the neighborhood. The single family homes tend on average to be a mix of cape cods, colonials, and an assortment of ranches - split, raised, and flat, with a few contemporary style homes found here and there throughout.

 

The Upper Fulton Park-Waterbury, CT neighborhood is unique in that there are no schools located within its boundaries. Depending on what part of the neighborhood they live in, students living in the Upper Fulton Park neighborhood either attend Kingsbury Elementary School , located at 220 Columbia Boulevard, which serves the southern half of the Upper Fulton Park-Waterbury, CT neighborhood , or Sprague Elementary School , located at 1443 Thomaston Avenue, which serves the northern half of the Upper Fulton Park-Waterbury, CT neighborhood.

 

There is only one church located in the entire Upper Fulton Park neighborhood – The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, located at 100 Williamson Drive.

 

There are two firehouses located just minutes away from the Upper Fulton Park neighborhood, both located outside of the boundaries of the neighborhood.

 

The Upper Fulton Park neighborhood is conveniently located close to Waterbury Plaza for shopping. The Upper Fulton Park neighborhood also contains one of the two meat markets in the city, Ideal Meat Market, located at 426 Hill Street; and two of the best places to eat in town – Amalfi’s , located at 581 Chase Avenue, and Castle Restaurant & Pub, located at 143 Chase Avenue.

The Meriden\Woodtick neighborhood of Waterbury, CT lies between Meriden Road and Woodtick Road, stretching all the way to the Wolcott town line, which both roads cross and continue into. The Meriden\Woodtick neighborhood is one of the subdivisions of the larger East End community in Waterbury, CT.

 

The Meriden\Woodtick neighborhood of Waterbury, CT   is a mostly residential neighborhood, with a few plazas along Frost Road and Meriden Road containing a medical clinic, a comic shop, insurance, and various other assorted services and eateries. The vast majority of the homes in the Meriden\Woodtick neighborhood are an assortment of ranch style homes – regular, split and raised, with a few capes and fewer colonial style homes scattered throughout the neighborhood. Most of the homes in this neighborhood were built between 1930 and 1970. There are several condominium complexes – 3 located on Meriden Road, and the rest located either on or off of Woodtick Road. There are two housing complexes in the area, both located off of Meriden Road in the southern portion of the neighborhood.
