Fusco Field, located on Talmadge Hill Road in Prospect, just off of Route 69, is the home of Prospect Little League Baseball.

 

Formally known as the Leonard J. Fusco Memorial Little League Complex, Fusco Field is comprised of several baseball fields on either side of a gravel parking lot, with two of the baseball fields elevated and surrounded by a chain link fence which hosts signs for all of Fusco Field’s patrons.

 

Little League baseball players, as well as the local school baseball teams and individual baseball enthusiasts can come and use Fusco Field for baseball practice.

 

Some people just come to enjoy a stroll through Fusco Field, or even just to sit and relax and enjoy a good book to read.

Meadowview Park, in Middlebury, CT, is located at the junction between Middlebury Road (Route 64) and Southford Road (Route 188).

Meadowview Park is located approximately a mile from Lake Quassapaug and ithe amusement park of the same name.

Meadowview Park is a large scenic park with a large fishing pond located near the park's entrance, a pavilion for organized gatherings and a large playground area for children to enjoy.

Caplan Park, in Prospect, CT, is located on New Haven Road (Route 69) about half a mile down from Canfield Park.

Caplan Park has a large football field which is used by the towns schools as a filed for football practice as well as games. Caplan Park  also has a baseball/softball diamond and a small playground for children to enjoy.

Canfield Park, in Prospect, CT, is located on New Haven Road (Route 69) close to the town center and Algonquin School.

Canfield Park has a large tennis court, three baseball/softball diamonds and a large field for football or soccer playing, with bleachers provided for an enjoyable game-watching experience.

Canfield Park also has a nice sized playground area for children, and a hopscotch pad made of brick and stone, which also serves as a memorial for residents of the town , with bricks and stones both in the hopscotch area and surrounding it engraved with the names of those who have served the community and contributed to the park's development.

Ledgewood Memorial Park, located at 650 Middlebury Road (along Route 64), is one of the four public parks in Middlebury, CT.

Ledgewood Memorial Park was established in 1990 as a tribute by the residents of Middlebury, CT to all of the residents of Middlebury who have lost their lives in service to their country in times of war, from the French and Indian War to the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. There is a monument with the names of all of Middlebury's fallen engraved in stone near the center of the park.

Ledgewood Memorial Park contains two large soccer fields, a baseball/softball field, a picnic area located on a knoll left of the center of the park shaded by pine, oak, and maple trees, a large children's play ground area and three fenced-in courts - a basketball court, a tennis court, and a court that has been converted into a skateboarding area, with ramps and other contraptions for local skateboard enthusiasts. There is a walkway that encircles the soccer field closest to the park's entrance.

East Mountain Park - Waterbury, CT

The East Mountain Neighborhood Association recently completed renovations to the East Mountain Park , located on East Mountain Road adjacent to the East Mountain Golf Course. The East Mountain Park boasts two baseball diamonds for baseball and softball games, a basketball court, sprinkler, large playground area with swings, and a walkway round the park. The view of the East Mountain Reservoir is spectacular from the walkway.

 

 

 

Residents of the city from the neighborhood, as well as from near and far, come together here to enjoy a nice day with family and friends, to play a game of hoops, and to take a stroll around the park.

 

I had the opportunity to bring my 20 month old son to the East Mountain Park last week, and while he loved being on the swings, the majority of his attention was focused on the basketball game being played on the basketball court.

We’ll have to go back to the East Mountain Park again for more days of fun, and perhaps catch another basketball game.
