A Day At Fulton Park - Waterbury CT

The Lewis Fulton Memorial Park, which sits nestled between the Crownbrook, Upper Fulton Park and Overlook neighborhoods of Waterbury, is the largest of the city's major parks. Occupying nearly 70 acres, Fulton Park encompasses two large ponds, a babbling brook that runs between them, playground areas, scenic walkways, a poolhouse, basketball courts and a baseball field. Fulton Park is one of the most popular sites in the city for taking wedding photos on a clear sunny day. There is a 7-11 24 hour convenience store located across from the northern pond and a recently (within the last 3 years) opened pizzaria, Park Pizza, provides excellent pizza and other hot deli items for those famished by a walk in Fulton Park.

Town Plot Park, located between Rosemount and Wilkenda Avenues, is the second of three parks which residents of Town Plot and other neighborhoods of Waterbury, CT can enjoy. Town Plot Park lies in the center of the Town PlotTown Plot Park also has a walkway that circles the park. One of the things that I find most appealing about Town Plot Park is the fact that it is not close to any major traffic, unlike most of the other major parks in Waterbury. neighborhood and is a fun and safe park for children of all ages to enjoy, with two playgrounds, a sprinkler, basketball courts, and a large soccer field. For residents who like to walk their dogs or just take a stroll in the park,

Chase Park – Waterbury CT

 

Chase Park, located at the northeastern corner of Highland and Sunnyside Avenues in Waterbury, CT, is one of three parks located in the Town Plot neighborhood of Waterbury, CT.

 

One of the most striking features of the park is the Pilgrim Fathers monument that sits as a gateway to the Town Plot neighborhood.

 

Chase Park boasts beautiful red maple trees, basketball and tennis courts, a sprinkler, playground area for children and walking paths. Chase Park also has a community house with an indoor basketball court and rooms for various community activities.

 

 

Enjoy A Day at Schofield Park Bunker Hill - Waterbury CT!

Going to the park should be a once a week event, at least.

During the spring and summer months, it gives the children an opportunity to run and play, and for parents, some down time to relax, enjoy the breeze, and even stop and smell the flowers.

I took such an opportunity on Sunday at Schofield Park, located in the Bunker Hill section of Waterbury CT with my family...

And I was simply blown away by how nice that Schofield Park was....

A well kept playground, set on a rubberized landing! How cool is that?!?!? No more scraped knees or sand in your shoes....

Two baseball diamonds set at opposite ends of the park....

A large field for the kids to play kickball, soccer, or any other pastime they choose....

  A basketball court for the guys and gals to play agood game of hoops...

A walkway for those who wish to take a leisurely stroll around the park....

and it even has a gazebo with tables for picnics or other functions.

With a park like this, it was easy to enjoy a day at Schofield Park Bunker Hill - Waterbury CT!

 

Bucks Hill Park (AKA Montoe Park) - Waterbury CT

Commonly known among many Waterburians as Montoe Park, Bucks Hill Park is a quiet spot located in the center of the Bucks Hill neighborhood on Montoe Road. Families can go to Bucks Hill Park to enjoy a baseball game, young people can go to play basketball, play tennis, run through the sprinker, romp around the playgrounds or otherwise just sit and enjoy a nice day relaxing.
