Of course, school is about to end for the hundreds of Wolcott students, and parents, grandparents, etc. are preparing for the intervening summer months, as well as graduation and all of the other end of the school year festivities.
Interestingly, seven local restaurants have teamed up for A Taste of Wolcott during the entire month of June. It is the first time that Wolcott has had such an event, and it promises to be an exciting extravaganza of food for those who love good food.
The restaurants that are participating are:
- Bin 300 World Bistro, at 300 Wolcott Road;
- East Street Eatery, at 141 East Street;
- J & M Restaurant, at 1512 Wolcott Road;
- La Fortuna Restaurant, at 388 Wolcott Road;
- Mona Lisa Restaurant, at 10 Wakelee Road;
- Portofino's Restaurant, at 1585 Meriden Road; and
- The River Restaurant & Pub, at 524 Wolcott Road.
Each restaurant has its own hours of operation, so if you are not sure of their open/closing times, give them a call. A Taste of Wolcott will run from Sundays to Thursdays every week in June, with the exception of Father's Day. The best thing about the event, besides the great food to be offered, is the price: for all of the restaurants, the price for two or more dishes on the menu will be $20.09.

William, here in Middletown we have had "A Taste Of Middletown", but it has been just a one day event, I have never heard of one for a whole month, but I think it is a good idea.
George, it's modeled after the Taste of Hartford and Taste of New Haven annual events. Because there are so many restaurants participating, they decided to do it for the entire month (except for Fridays and Saturdays, and Father's Day).
