William's Places: A Lesson From Some Rather Fearless Fowl...

A Lesson From Some Rather Fearless Fowl...

A Lesson From Some Rather Fearless Fowl...

I was driving on my way to Wolcott on Tuesday and saw this unusual sight:

Chickens in the city

I thought at first, what are turkeys doing here in the middle of the city? Then I realized, they weren't turkeys, there were chickens!!!

They were, contrary to my initial impression of them, quite fearless as they strutted around, wondering what to do with themselves as they wandered along the side of the road.

It reminded me of something that FDR said: "...we have nothing to fear but fear itself".

These chickens were not chicken at all as I approached them to get this shot, and several others. At several times, they looked as if they were going to charge at me for intruding on them.

We're the ones who let things that seem to be too big for us intimidate us, scare us, paralyze us into inaction.

I'm not talking about those who have reviewed all of the facts that they have about their own situations and have made the conscious decision to not buy or sell.

Those who have not, and do not know, all of the options that are out there and the possibilities available to them, whether on the buying or selling side of the real estate equation, is the lesson that these rather fearless fowl present to you.

Approach the unknown with purpose, and a determination to know the answers that will help you to make a decision. If there is something that you do not know, find it out! There are plenty of resources available that you can use to inform your decision to buy or sell in today's market.

Don't let fear of the unknown keep you trapped, stuck, or paralyzed into inaction for your own benefit. These rather fearless fowl, with their steady approach toward me as I took their pictures, taught me that...

Who knew a couple of chickens could be so inspiring?

William - nice post.  I have chickens, but never thought of them in the way you have... except for the smallest banty rooster that we have who is the only one that will attack us and crow about it.  Thanks for the mindset.
