Wilby Freshmen Basketball Win over Holy Cross
Wilby High School's Freshmen basketball team won their season opener on December 18th in a 69-47 blowout of Holy Cross. The game was a first for me on many levels…the first basketball game that I have ever gone to, ever...the first time I’ve gotten to watch my stepson, Daquan, play basketball for his school team, the first time that my youngest son, Jr., went to a basketball game...and watching the performance of the freshmen Wildcats against the Crusaders was nothing short of exhilarating.
The Wilby Wildcats were led in scoring by Ezra Coleman, who scored 28 points, followed by John Mitchell and Daquan McDougald, who both rounded out the team’s effort with double digit scores.

Congratulations William. I have a grandson and know how much these games mean. It's great to take time out for our youth. I commend you. Keep up the fantastic work.
Eldon
I dont want to miss this opportunity of wishing you a very Merry Christmas.
Eldon - I intend to keep going. Although I have never been a basketball fan, I'll do it for no other reason than to make sure that both of my sons know that I do care.
Loreena - You already did, but it never hurts to say things more than once. I hope you had a blessed Christmas with your family today.
William, I love this post and especially the video you included. My kids are 28 and 23 now, but I always kept them active in sports and music when they were in high school. Our children have a way of helping us spread our boundaries of comfort. My son is now in a rock band and I go to listen to his band whenever it is possible. They never get too old to hear their parent's praise.
William, What a wonderful family activity. I went to my sons' games and I honestly don't know who had more fun - them or me! These are great memory builders.
