It's Not Your Fight...
There are times when it seems like we have no peace anywhere we go. On the job, in our homes, even in the church, we find strife. It gets tired, more often than we care to admit.
But the best way to find peace in the midst of the enemy's attacks is to realize several things. One, recognize that it is the enemy attacking you - not your boss, or your co-worker, or your spouse, or your children, or even your brothers and sisters in Christ. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" - Ephesians 6:12. Two, realize that "greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world" - I John 4:4b.
There are times when we have to fight, using the weapons that God has given us (II Corinthians 10:4, Ephesians 6:13-18), and then there are times when we need to realize that it is not our fight...

Amen! Thank you for a timely reminder.
So glad that I subscribed to your blog! Thank you for the message and song!
William: I'm wondering if in a lot of cases the person is really attacking us or is projecting their prejudices and perceptions upon us and then attacking a false construct. Best,
When the battle is between good and evil, "There are times when we have to fight!"
Bill
Great message William. It is so easy to just see the person in front of you without seeing the enemy behind them planting the seeds of distress. I appreciate the reminder.
Yolanda Adams is awesome. What a powerful voice for God!
William, we have the tools to fight that fight, and we do not have to fight it alone. I turn to the Bible often, you can't go wrong in the direction it sends you.
George - I was going to go there, but that wasn't where the Spirit wanted me to go, not quite yet. I've gotta deliver that message another day, and not on the 'net...well, maybe after, if He says so...
Very true. I learned this lesson over the past 10 months. God had to break me, and I learned to pray for those that are against me. Not an easy thing to do, but a valuable lesson. As Moses reminded the Israelites in Exodus 14:14 "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."
Thanks for the post.
