Today, from 1 to 3 p.m., the 2nd Annual Upper Fulton Park Neighborhood Cookout was held at the island between Cooke, Moran, and Collins Street.
Upper Fulton Park resident Victor Diaz, who sponsors the Adopt-A-Spot at the island, graciously sponsored the event at the island again this year.
Residents from nearby neighborhoods also joined in the festivities, as did the Waterbury Police Explorers, who did a fantastic job coordinating traffic around the island.
There was a dunking booth and inflatable playrooms for the small children to enjoy themselves in, and even a face-painting station.
Residents young and old alike enjoyed the cookout. Thank God that nature cooperated today!

I'd say that looks like a wonderful neighborhood cookout! Your pictures certainly depict happy people!
William and which one did you do the inflatable playrooms or the face-painting station?
Tish - thank you! It was fun this year. No politicians around trolling for votes. The two that were there were neighborhood residents (or nearby neighborhood residents) just enjoying the day.
George - neither one, I'll have you know ;-) I took the pictures...
Hey William, looks there was a great turnout and everyone had a wonderful time :) I love when neighborhoods come together!
Sounds like a wonderful event William. A great time had by all I'm sure.
